What Are Affiliate Programs?
Affiliate programs, also called associate programs, are agreements where an online site offers to pay other web sites a commission to send them traffic or traffic that makes a purchase.
The affiliated web sites create hyperlinks to the merchant site and are reimbursed according to their merchant agreement. The agreement can be structured one of two ways. One is a small fee paid just for traffic. This is usually from a few cents to not more than 50 cents. The second is payment only if the traffic makes a purchase.
